The allocation of Seats according to count results is carried out based on the following rules:

The number of votes obtained by the candidacies are ordered from highest to lowest.

The number of votes obtained for each candidacy is divided by 1, 2, 3, etc., until reaching the same number of votes as Seats corresponding to the electoral district, forming a table similar to the example provided below. The Seats are allocated to the candidacies that obtain the highest quotients, in decreasing order.

The Seats corresponding to each candidacy are awarded to the candidates included in said candidacy, in order of appearance:
Practical example: 480,000 valid votes issued in an electoral district that elects eight Members of Parliament. Voting is divided into six candidacies: A, B, C, D, E, F.

allocation of seats in accordance with the count results
A (168,000 v.) B (104,000 v.) C (72,000 v.) D (64,000 v.) E (40,000 v.) F (32,000 v.)
Division 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Table close
A 168.000 84.000 56.000 42.000 33.600 28.000 24.000 21.000
B 104.000 52.000 34.666 26.000 20.800 17.333 14.857 13.000
C 72.000 36.000 24.000 18.000 14.400 12.000 10.285 9.000
D 64.000 32.000 21.333 16.000 12.800 10.666 9.142 8.000
E 40.000 20.000 13.333 10.000 8.000 6.666 5.714 5.000
E 32.000 16.000 10.666 8.000 6.400 5.333 4.571 4.000

Consequently: candidacy A obtains 4 Seats, candidacy B obtains 2 Seats and candidacies C and D obtain 1 Seat each.

When two quotients on the quotient list corresponding to different candidacies coincide, the Seat shall be allocated to the candidacy which obtained the highest number of votes. If there were two candidacies with the same number of votes, the first tie would be resolved by a draw and the successive ties would be resolved alternatively.
