BACKUP PROCESSING CENTRE (CPB):
Subsidiary of the Data Processing Centre, located in an independent building, that can continue with the vote count in the event that the main building has to be evacuated.
BALLOT BOX :
Container used in manual voting processes so that the can deposit the ballot papers On which they have recorded their decision, in such a way that these may be preserved without revealing said until they are counted at the end of the voting. Once assembled, the ballot box must be inviolable, its manipulation once closed and sealed, in addition to accessing the envelopes deposited in its interior or the introduction of other new ones through a slot other than that provided for this purpose, being impossible.

BALLOT PAPER:
Form whereby citizens may exercise their right to vote. For the Senate, there is a single ballot paper which includes all the candidates. The voter must mark a maximum of three candidates. In other electoral processes, the voter must select the ballot paper corresponding to the candidacy he/she wishes to vote, which includes the acronym and list of candidates for each electoral district.
Bicameral :
Parliamentary system structured on two Chambers.
BLANK VOTES:
Votes deposited in empty envelopes without ballot papers. In the elections to the Senate, ballot papers without indications in favour of any candidate are considered blank votes. Votes issued in favour of candidacies withdrawn throughout the process are also considered blank votes. Blank votes form part of the group of valid voters (which is relevant to the calculation of percentages).
BOOTH:
The voting booth guarantees the voter's privacy at all times while exercising his/her right to vote. It is an electoral element that must be placed within the premises where the voting table is located and which the voters may use to prepare their voting ballots, thereby preserving their right to secret voting.
