CANDIDACY:
Group of candidates who, comprising a list, represent an electoral district for a political party, coalition of parties or group of voters, in accordance with the criteria and requirements established by law.
CANDIDATE:
Component of an electoral list, once proclaimed as such by the competent electoral board. Depending on the type of electoral process, these can be candidates to members of Parliament, Congress or the Senate; to members of Autonomic Parliament or the European Parliament; and candidates to town councils.
Chamber :
Name given to the hall in which the Plenary meets. It is also called the Plenary Room.
Chamber:
Used as a synonym of Assembly or Parliament. Parliaments may have one, two or more Chambers.
Child Protection Agency :
Auxiliary Institution of the Assembly of Madrid responsible for protecting children's rights within the Community of Madrid.
COALITION :
Specific political formation, authorised to present candidacies, constituted by political parties and/or federated parties.
COMMUNICATION OF PROVISIONAL RESULTS:
Operation aimed at communicating the provisional vote count results. Depending on the media used, said communication can be audiovisual, paper reports with written results or electronic (computer terminals).
CONSULATES:
Spanish consular network located abroad which, with regard to electoral issues, performs tasks aimed at confirming the CERA roll. It is the place where non-resident nationals can deposit their vote in general, European and autonomic elections.
Constitutive Session:
Solemn act or first session after the autonomic elections which officially signals the start of the Parliamentary Term and mandate of the new Chamber and Members of Parliament, and during which the Members of the Assembly Table are appointed. The date and time of the session is established in the Election Notification Decree issued by the President of the Community and, in its absence, shall take place obligatorily twenty-five days following the elections or, if it were a holiday, the first working day after 12 pm.
Credencial:
Document issued by the Electoral Board (body responsible for the elections, vote count and veracity of results) certifying that the Member of Parliament has obtained a seat.
