This principle determines that the Assembly must decide its own internal matters without interference from other public institutions or authorities.
Parliamentary Courtesy :
The Members of Parliament are obliged to behave respectfully and correctly, keeping their composure at all times.
Parliamentary Groups:
Association of Members of Parliament within the Parliament formed on the basis of a common ideology. In the Assembly of Madrid, five Members of Parliament are required to form a Group.
Parliamentary Term:
Period during which the mandate of a Chamber is extended and throughout which the Chamber can fully deploy its authority and functions. At present, the Assembly of Madrid is concluding its VII Parliamentary Term. In general, the duration is four years, except in the case of early or sanctionary dissolution.
PARTICIPATION :
The number of voters who actually exercise their right to vote in the elections. Said number can be expressed in absolute values or roll percentages. Depending on the level, we must refer to participation at a table, municipality, electoral district or the whole electoral sphere.
Plenary of the Assembly:
Supreme functional body of the Assembly, formed by all the Members of Parliament and which the Government attends.
POLLING STATION COORDINATOR :
The person appointed by the organising Administration to communicate the relevant data (roll, participation, votes, etc.) gathered during each phase of the election day to the Data Reception Centre (CRI), by means of an electronic device, including: opening and reports on participation or results of provisional vote count of the assigned polling station.
POLLING STATION:
Physical place where the right to vote is exercised. It can consist of one or more voting tables.
POSTAL VOTE :
Vote issued by those voters who, due to absence or illness, cannot attend the corresponding table on the election day, having previously requested said postal vote at the provincial department of the Electoral Roll Office. The Postal Service must retain all correspondence addressed to the voting tables, deliver it at 9 am and continue to deliver all mail votes received throughout election day until 8 pm.
President's Cabinet:
Body to assist and give technical, protocolary and administrative support to the Presidency of the Assembly, comprised of the President's trusted aides and advisers.
Proportionality:
Principle according to which the bodies of the Assembly must be composed in proportion to the numerical representation of the Parliamentary Groups in the Chamber. This guarantees that the resulting majorities are respected after the elections within all the parliamentary bodies.
PROVISIONAL RESULTS :
The results provided by the Notifying Administration on the election night, via a processing centre which has been assigned this task. Although the tally is 100% closed, the data is considered provisional until the electoral boards make a declaration in this regard.
PROVISIONAL VOTE COUNT:
Carried out at each voting table, once the polling stations have closed. The chairperson declares the voting closed and proceeds to open the ballot boxes and count the votes. Once the final result has been reached, the sheet is completed and a copy is given to the representative appointed by the Administration, who communicates said result to the Data Reception Centre.
