Sanctionary Dissolution:
Dissolution of the Assembly that takes place if after two months from the first investiture vote no presidential candidate has obtained sufficient support from the Assembly to be elected.
SEAT:
Unit that comprises the Parliament or Chamber to which the elections refer. The objective of the elections is to assign the seats in the Chamber to the different candidacies based on the number of votes and an electoral seat allocation formula. Office that corresponds to those elected after the elections and forming part of the Assembly, there being the same number of seats as number of members who comprise the Parliament, in accordance with the formula stipulated by the Statute of the Autonomous Community of Madrid.
This term also refers to the space or place reserved for Members of Parliament in the Chamber and Commission rooms. Seats can only be held by Members of Parliament. The Members of Parliament have their seats nominally assigned or reserved in the chamber.
Self-government:
The authority of the Community of Madrid to self-manage its own or shared corresponding competencies within the limits defined by the binding judicial laws, within the framework of the Constitution and the Statute of Autonomy of the Community of Madrid.
Simple Majority :
Decision adopted by a number of affirmative votes greater than the number of negative votes, not counting abstentions, blank and null and void votes.
Standing Committee:
Body created at the start of the Parliamentary Term which operates exclusively during the months between sessions or periods of dissolution or expiry of the mandate and the constitution of the new Assembly, thereby granting continuity to the Chamber.
