How do you vote from abroad?

The Provincial Offices of the Electoral Roll Office (OCE) are legally appointed to send persons registered in the electoral roll of absent residents:

  • A certificate of registration in the electoral roll.
  • A ballot paper of each option.
  • The voting envelope.
  • An envelope displaying the address of the Provincial Electoral Board.
  • A leaflet explaining voting procedure.

These items must be sent by registered mail between 3 April and 15 May.

The voter will insert the ballot paper selected in the voting envelope and close it. This envelope and the certificate will be inserted in the envelope addressed to the Provincial Electoral Board and will be sent by registered mail by 24 May 2007.

This voting procedure is free of charge for the voter and for this purpose there is a special procedure to reimburse any expense occasioned by this means of exercising the right to vote.

On the day of the general count, and before this begins, the Provincial Electoral Board forms an Electoral Table and proceeds to count these votes.
