Genre: discussion on flamenco
FLAMENCO ACTIVITIES
This year, Suma Flamenca has programmed two activities in parallel with its artistic programme, in which the present will show us the past and the future of flamenco. A discussion Supongamos que hablo de Morente and the course Flamenco en el aula.
In November 2010, flamenco was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Barely a month later, we lost the greatest of our flamenco artists, Enrique Morente. He was the only artist who participated in all the editions of the festival, in Chinchón, in Vallecas, in El Olivar de Castillejos, in Teatros del Canal, in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, in Buitrago de Lozoya, alone, accompanied, with poetry, in the open air, with wind, with rain… he was the Suma’s emblematic artist.
Two Morente fans, friends of the singer, Juan Verdú and José Manuel Gamboa, are not resigned to not having him. They are summoning those of us who love and admire him to come together and talk about him, about flamenco… slowly, with respect and admiration, as in an after-lunch conversation, the kind the maestro enjoyed… because today he is still present among us. Finished the chat, the movie will be projected Morente of Emilio R. Barrachina.
This indispensable gathering for lovers of flamenco will be held in the Teatro del Institut Français in Madrid,, on Tuesday 28 June at 20:30 and admission is free.
