“The society of digital surveillance shows a special panoptic structure. Bentham's panopticon consists of cells isolated from each other. The residents cannot communicate with each other. The walls make it impossible for residents to see each other. In order to improve, they are exposed to solitude. In contrast, the residents of the digital panopticon create a network and communicate intensively with each other. What makes total control possible is not spatial and communicative isolation, but networking and hyper-communication”.Byung-Chul Han, En el enjambre
There has been no other time when human beings have been more prepared or have had more means to understand and enjoy their existence. But they have never been so empty and have never been so nurtured from themselves. As automatons, we pursue an objective that we have not chosen and that fills us with pride, that deprives us of decision and distances us from others to fall into the darkest of solitudes.
Post_Panoptikon is a transmedia drama which manifest itself through different online channels. The experience will begin on Thursday 12 November and will last for nine days, during which the participants will be contacted and will be able to interact with the characters of the story.
The access to the experience is free, but limited to a very limited number of participants. Those who wish to apply to be a participant can fill in the following form:

Belén Santa-Olalla (Madrid, 1983) is the creative director of Stroke114, a
performing arts and narrative design company based between Malaga and
Madrid that specialises in interactive proposals, transmedia and
experiential theatre. She is also the person in charge of the executive
production of Factoría Echegaray, the stage incubator of Teatro Cervantes
in Malaga.
She has recently been an associate artist at Conde Duque Madrid, where she
has focused her work on immersive performing arts, with a special interest
in collaborative drama and the constant search for an active role of the
audience.
Belén Santa-Olalla is also Chief Creative Officer at Transmedia Storyteller
LTD London, where she has carried out transmedia consultancy work at an
international level. She has been a presenter at international conferences
such as SXSW (USA), and collaborates as a professor in postgraduate
programmes on transmedia storytelling and branded content
at UC3M, UCM and UOC, among other institutions.
She is currently developing the theatreis.digital platform together with
Beatriz Cabur, a global online platform that serves as a meeting,
training and exchange point for creators of transmedia and digital theatre.
Stroke114 was born from the meeting of Rodrigo de la Calva and Belén
Santa-Olalla. Born in Madrid, raised in London and matured in Malaga, the
company Stroke114 seeks to create experiential shows, in which the viewer
is no longer a passive agent. Using new dramaturgies, immersive theatre
formats and interactive technologies, it seeks to involve the audience
emotionally in a more direct way.
In 2016, Factoría Echegaray selects and produces Kafka's project El proceso
(The process), an expanded theatrical proposal with a transmedia universe
in which the viewers are the protagonists of their own Kafkaesque process
on different online platforms.
Between 2017 and 2018 they designed and launched the Stage Innovation
initiative, promoted by Malaga City Council and the Andalusian Regional
Government. In this context, they developed an immersive proposal augmented
with binaural sound, Retrotopia o cómo morir de nuevo (Retrotopia
or how to die again), with a creative process developed by the youngest
viewers, the millenials.
In 2019 they premiered at the Malaga Theatre Festival MACHO: Crónicas de identidad perdida (MACHO: Chronicles of a lost
identity), an intimate and intense reflection on masculinity in the times
of feminism.
That same year they premiered Lecciones de vuelo (Flying lessons),
by Sergio Martínez Vila, a site-specific piece for the Conde Duque
vaults, where they worked with the ideas and imagination of a group of
children aged 5 to 10 to create a reflective piece for adults about the
loss of childhood.
The company is currently preparing the play Enjambre (Swarm) for
its premiere at the Malaga Theatre Festival in January 2021.
