ENGLISHSurge Madrid - Autumn Festival Collaboration
Coreografías virtuales: movimiento(s) futuro(s) explores how the language of movement can engage in dialogue, or does engage in dialogue, with the modes of perception and production on digital platforms.
The piece, inspired by Jaime Conde-Salazar’s book La danza del futuro , presents a dance imbued with the physical and emotional legacy of Generation Z, shaped by screens, platforms and forms of instant communication. Far from being a nostalgic longing for the lost body or a celebration of technology, Coreografías virtuales proposes a form of movement that is rooted in the technological present.
The Valencian choreographer Mauricio Pérez Fayos explores a generational perspective on uncertainty and the future. In his previous work, Esto iba a ser La Oportunidad y ha terminado siendo mi primera despedida , he explored the abandonment of youthful aspirations and the impossibility of imagining a future.
The creative process itself as content and an interest in multidisciplinary approaches are hallmarks of his work, in which the body serves as a barometer of the present day.
