ENGLISHDirector and playwright Luiz Felipe Reis brings Deserto to the Autumn Festival, a Brazilian production inspired by the world of the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño. The piece offers an expanded form of dramaturgy in which theatre, literature, music, visual arts and performance intertwine to create a unique and distinctive narrative. The show does not adapt Bolaño’s work, but rather breaks it down and rewrites it for the stage using excerpts from the author’s novels, interviews and other texts.
On stage, the actor Rodrigo Bolzan embodies Bolaño’s many voices, in an exploration of memory and fiction, poetry and politics.
Deserto is typical of the work of its director and playwright, Luiz Felipe Reis, which questions traditional forms of theatrical performance.
