ENGLISHNew to ÁGORA this year is the section generically titled Incursiones, an initiative that aims to take theatre out of its usual venues and into unconventional spaces – in this case, a market, specifically the Mercado de Vallehermoso market in Madrid’s Chamberí neighbourhood. The UMAMI collective, comprising Eva Mir and Olga Hernández, will be carrying out a project that brings together gastronomy, art and technology, which they have aptly titled Habla el mercado. People from the fields of new drama, environmental sciences, gastronomy and the design of sound and light spaces will create a space dedicated to restoring the subversive nature of cooking and eating as a place of care and connection, far removed from today’s productivist dynamics.
