ENGLISHSorvina, an American singer based in Berlin, is at the forefront of a unique musical style that blends jazz rap with neo-soul, gospel and hip-hop.
Over the past two years, she has won the award for best artist on the Listen to Berlin platform, has been nominated for the Anchor Award at the prestigious Reeperbahn International Festival in Germany, and is regarded as an “artist of interest” by leading German media outlets such as The Berliner magazine and Flux FM.
Her music, reminiscent of the jazzy elegance also found in the work of other female poet-rappers such as Little Simz and Noname, explores a range of themes, including queer identity, healing and joy.
At the Autumn Festival, she will be performing as a quintet to present her debut album Oh, the Places You’ll Go with which she has been touring jazz festivals in France, Bulgaria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy, as well as the WOMAD festival in the UK and the Cádiz Jazz Festival.
