ENGLISHThree young people, Ale, Nacho and P., play basketball at a club in the city of Bahía Blanca. It’s an important night because they’re playing their final league match the next day. So they invite Rocío, a teenager who works at the club. That night, the three young men committed a rape and a femicide.
Un tiro cada uno, written by Mariana de la Mata, Consuelo Iturraspe and Laura Sbdar and directed by the latter two, explores violence against women through real-life cases that took place in Argentina.
In the play, which was awarded the 2016 Creation Grant by the National Arts Fund, three actresses portray the three murderers and rapists: a narrative and theatrical device for critically examining the dynamics and mechanisms of the most violent forms of masculinity.
Consuelo Iturraspe, a playwright and poet, is the author of works such as Cemento , a long poem about parting and heartbreak that established her reputation as a creator and director. He has also published the poetry collections Acaricio Perros (2020) and En lugar de dormir (2024).
Laura Sbdar, a playwright and founder of the Festival de Teatro en la Cárcel (a cultural event that brings theatre productions to Ezeiza Prison in Buenos Aires), was awarded the Aura Estrada International Literature Prize a few months ago for her novel Hasta que brille (2025).
In 2022, the two teamed up to found the theatre company Las Rosas.
