Synopsis
This documentary is an invitation to travel through the Amazon basins of Peru, Colombia and Brazil, also travelling through time, via the rites and myths that have been lost in the origin of their history and culture. A fascinating look at the cultures and rites of the hallucinogenic plants used by shamans and healers in the indigenous ceremonies along this great river, especially ayahuasca, the ‘dead man’s noose’ or ‘wine of the spirits’.
