About the Event Proprio come se nulla fosse avvenuto

Proprio come se nulla fosse avvenuto

The ghost of emigration, exile and the feeling of not belonging are the principal themes of this work by Palermo-born Roberto Andò. His protagonists are a group of men and women on the run who are about to embark on a journey of no return. The action takes place at the Darsena Acton, an area of the harbour of Naples which is home to the Navy, with a single stage installation divided into two separate locations, each featuring its own distinct sounds and environment. According to the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, where the work was premiered, the port is portrayed as "a venue for destiny, where the voice of the living and the dead converge, purified from narrative concerns and transformed into landscape, moral profile, still life."

After studying philosophy, Roberto Andò started collaborating at an early age as an assistant director with Francesco Rosi, Federico Fellini, Michael Cimino and Francis Ford Coppola. Since 1980, he has been alternating between film and theatre direction.
