MÚSICA EN LA AZOTEA (MUSIC ON THE ROOFTOP)

The roof terrace of the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in Móstoles is stirring with the rhythm of spring. The Mediterranean psychodelia of Jose Domingo, whose live shows are an open door to inspiration; the irreverent musical cabaret of L.A.B (Latigazo, Azote y Bofetón) where bossa, punk, folk and any other musical style that this fun quintet can lay their hands on come together; and the long-awaited solo debut of Emilio Saiz with his band, Nothing Places, one of the most dazzling musical surprises of the year. These three acts make up the bill for this truly authentic - and free entry - musical workout which takes place for the first time at this venue as part of the Festival de Otoño en primavera. The event gives free rein to the artists' music and they take to the stage united by their contemporary and innovative styles.

L.A.B will open proceedings to the sound of dance, ranchera-satie, and contemporary bossa together with theatre of the absurd, modern dance, Neapolitan song and regional folk. Up next is singer-songwriter Jose Domingo, also leader of the rock band, Psychoine, who will be performing solo. For the icing on the cake, under the alias of Nothing Places, Emilio Saiz will perform his first solo work, produced by his father, Suso Saiz. The album is an exciting collection of songs and a display of his creativity on guitar which is obviously something that runs in the family. In his latest collaboration with Iván Ferreiro's band in March, Fernando Neira in El País talked about Saiz as "one of the most remarkable guitarists on the (Spanish) scene" and concluded that "he is worth your immediate attention and he should get it when he publishes his first, inspirational solo project under the title of Nothing Places".
