"Flowing, sensual and stylish"

Following international critical acclaim including reviews such as "utterly mesmerising", Aurélia Thierrée returns to Madrid with her new production, Murmurs. It follows the rapturous reception she received for El oratorio de Aurélia during the Festival de Otoño en primavera in 2010 and which is still in demand following seven world tours.
Coming from one of the world’s most acclaimed theatrical lineages, Victoria Thierrée Chaplin produces a remarkable display of stage illusion created especially for, and with, her daughter, Aurélia Thierrée. The indomitable spirit of this masterwork speaks to unique traditions, master craftsmanship and unbound imagination that redefines theatricality at every turn.
Walls are silent (or not so silent) witnesses of our lives. They protect and hide us from the outside. This is the central premise of Murmurs, a sensual and dreamlike work, set as a continuation El oratorio de Aurélia where abandoned cities come to life and rooms exhale threads of information, stories of lives that once were.
A woman on the run from reality with her life packed into cardboard boxes. The mystery deepens and the protagonist is pursued through abandoned buildings and streets which lead nowhere. The walls close in. The production is a puzzle which slowly pieces itself together, thanks to the shrewd mix of excitement, manipulation, circus and dance which Victoria Thierrée Chaplin brings to the stage. Murmurs is wild romance, urban confusion, underwater encounters and much more.
