“Some artists come into their own by building chimerical worlds, exploding into virtual snowball fights, breaking out in cold sweats in landscapes interwoven with bridges and imaginary abysses. This is Adrien M and Claire B”.Mathieu Braunstein, Télérama
Three versatile dancers defy gravity and play with seemingly impossible images. With Le mouvement de l'air (The Movement of Air), the magic of the digital world draws spectators into a fascinating visual universe full of dreamlike scenes. After HakanaÏ and Cinématique, spectacular shows by Adrien M & Claire B that showcased the infinite possibilities that digital technologies offer to the theatre world, the company takes a step forward with its latest work, with dancers-cum-acrobats that fly and pass through a digital dreamland, the electronic visuals becoming a character in and of itself onstage.
Acrobatic choreography in Le mouvement de l'air (The Movement of Air) is performed by dancers submerged in a digital world and a universe of sounds that create a singular dramatic language and open innovative ways for the performers to explore new relationships with time and space. The images escape their screens and jump onto centre stage, just like the acrobats shift boundaries and begin to fly, effortlessly escaping Earth’s gravity to cross the stage in infinitely nuanced paths.
Digital artistry is generated and animated in real time and original music is played live on stage in this hour-long visually stunning show; art meets technology to let the imagination –and the performers– soar.
Le mouvement de l'air (The Movement of Air) first premiered at the Théâtre de l’Archipel in Perpignan (France) on 7 October 2015 and hit the stage in Spain at the Grec Festival in Barcelona in July 2016 and in Santander in December before making its way to Madrid.
