Led by David R. Peralto and director José Luis Arellano, whose productions have garnered international awards like the Helen Hayes Award presented by theatreWashington. This company counts on the best playwrights for their versions such as Juan Mayorga, Alberto Conejero, Guillem Clua, Nando López and Jordi Casanovas.

Now, in collaboration with the Autumn to Spring Festival, they are taking on one of the great authors of Spanish literature: Antonio Buero Vallejo. Author of masterpieces likeHistoria de una escalera, En la ardiente oscuridad and El tragaluz this playwright, who was imprisoned by the Franco dictatorship, is one of our most ambitions and profound intellectuals of the second half of the 20th century and his legacy remains relevant and his plays continue to question the conscience of audiences over a century after his birth. Precisely, the play to be presented by La Joven Compañia, La fundación, is an unsettling fable which originally premiered during the death throes of the Franco regime. It sees five individuals imprisoned in a jail waiting for the death sentence to be delivered. It was an audacious subject matter to use at the time. Canarian dramatist Irma Correa was responsible for the adaptation that will be seen on stage.

Her script is a metaphor for the human being and the desire for freedom, for the power of imagination to scale the walls of injustice and, also, a display of how fragile the line between madness and reason can be. It is a truly modern text that looks at today because, as Buero Vallejo himself said, "I'm a man committed to the future, although I'm not naive. My plays are also committed to the future. What happens is that this is borne out through plots that usually involve a high degree of tragedy. That's why the audience might get a mistaken first impression and believe that they are facing a desperate message”.
