Réplika Teatro will host, on Sunday middays, a series of three conversations under the collective title Paisajes de fondo, which highlight reflection and critical thought around contemporary performing arts practice. In a relaxed atmosphere—and with the chance to enjoy a vermouth and an aperitive—these talks will explore a range of topics. The first session, Prácticas del pensamiento Muxeril, focuses on the unique muxe universe presented by Mexican creator Lukas Avendaño, who also presents his performance Réquiem por un alcaraván at the Festival.
Two subsequent conversations, moderated by Álvaro Vicente, will examine, on the one hand, the socio-political threads running through several titles in the Festival’s program in relation to the poetics and aesthetics of the participating Latin American artists, and on the other, the dance productions—addressing themes such as multiculturalism, the relationship between folkloric roots and urban dance, and artistic concerns in the face of a materially and spiritually turbulent future.
Free admission until full capacity is reached.
