ENGLISHÁGORA is an open meeting space that takes place in parallel with the programmed performances of the Festival through a series of free-access activities.
Aiming to offer new contexts and enrich the audience’s experience, ÁGORA presents three innovative proposals, in addition to the post-show encounters between spectators and artists.
Firstly, Antesalas —pre-show talks preceding the premieres of selected works— will serve as an introduction to each artist’s creative universe.
Secondly, the Paisajes de fondo series highlights reflection and thought around the performing arts through relaxed conversations—complete with vermouth and appetizers—held on Sunday middays at Réplika Teatro. These sessions will explore the muxe universe brought by Mexican creator Lukas Avendaño, analyze the socio-political dimensions that run through several titles in the Festival’s theatre program in relation to the poetics and aesthetics of the participating Latin American artists, and address dance performances specifically, examining their connection to themes such as multiculturalism, the relationship between folkloric roots and urban dance, and artistic concerns in the face of a materially and spiritually turbulent future.
Finally, Bailar el ágora will feature DJ sessions in the Sala de Cristal of Teatros del Canal on Saturday nights, offering a more playful experience specially designed for younger generations.
