About the event Circa

Circa

The Australian circus company Circa comes trailing glory and doesn't disappoint in this 75-minute show of greatest hits.

- THE GUARDIAN

The Australian company, Circa, performs for the first time in Spain at the Festival de Otoño en primavera, with a presentation of their latest very personal and highly expressive production, also called Circa. It is a circus show where the choreographic and bodily possibilities are endless and where the physical poetry is all-encompassing - a single vision of the circus as something magical and charming which is constantly challenging contemporary art forms. Considered one of the most innovative circus companies in the world, Circa's work is founded on an established group of artists who explore the boundaries of circus art, thanks to the intriguing vision of director Yaron Lifschitz who proposes a form of contemporary poetic art linked to the traditional language of the circus. Lifschitz says of Circa's latest production: "The show is pure physical poetry. A mix of sound, light, projection, moving bodies and amazing circus stunts".

For their latest work, Circa reintroduces acrobatics and juggling, thereby doing away with the need for complex staging and additional choreography. During the performance, the principle characters develop and explore their extraordinary bodily limits. Circa was one of the highlights of last year's Festival de Cirque Actuel in Auch, France, where one critic described the production as "seven acrobats so complete and complex that they are capable of joining together a number of acrobatic elements that border on sadomasochism spiced with humour. Bravo!".
