About the event Soledad Villamil en Concierto

SOLEDAD VILLAMIL EN CONCIERTO

Music is a sheltered space that obliges me to connect with myself, away from the expectations of the outside world.

- SOLEDAD VILLAMIL

Soledad Villamil is a successful actress who has performed under directors such as John Taratuto (No sos vos, soy yo), Adrian Caetano/span> (Un oso rojo)< and Juan José Campanella, with whom she worked on El mismo amor, la misma lluvia and El secreto de sus ojos, the film in which Villamil won the Goya for Best New Actress in 2010 and which also won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in the same year.

During her career, she has appeared across the artistic spectrum, including theatre, cinema, music and television. After dedicating more than 10 years of her career to music, beginning with the celebrated works, Glorias Porteñas and Recuerdos son recuerdos, she brings her Soledad Villamil en concierto show to Spain for the first time. Running through a repertoire ranging from popular Argentinian music to tango, she also takes in songs from her latest album Morir de amor (2009). On stage, she is accompanied by a singular performance from Los Hermanos Macana, who present an unusual tango dance for men.

During the concert, each song becomes a history, a story, a landscape in the imagination. It is a musical journey punctuated by different rhythms and climates. They are songs which are heard and seen thanks to Villamil's onstage presence, the emotion of the words and the power of the images she evokes. Her tour began in the Teatro Nacional of Buenos Aires in December 2010.
