Poetry is making a comeback to this year’s Festival with an anthology launch. It brings together all the works presented in the Pictura Fulgens series in a single edition.
A collective and poetic ritual event that will be held at the Sala Réplika on 12 November at noon to present the anthology from the publishing house Contintametienes. It brings together 18 poets who took part in the three previous Festivals in the Pictura Fulgens series. It will be festive but relaxed and enjoyed with a special Madrilenian vermouth to read poetry and an opportunity for poets and poetry-lovers to share their love for linguistic arts.
Autumn arrives, and with it comes dimmer light and getting home earlier. The hues of nature shift and change, marking the new season. Autumn is coming and, fortunately, the Festival is coming, too. For the past three years, the Festival de Otoño has been inviting poets nationwide to participate by creating artwork. A museum, a poem, a work of art and the birth of Pictura Fulgens (here you can see this union's creation). This year Contintametienes will be publishing texts from the Festival's brilliance. To commemorate the book’s publication and keep the relationship between writing, the Festival, and life alive, we are hosting a day where poets, artists, and audiences can come together to celebrate, read, listen, watch, and dance.
Usually, poets work in private settings such as bedrooms, homes, library corners, notebooks, diaries, or Word files. An inside-out exercise that we witness when the words have already taken on their role and left this intimate space. This time, we suggest opening these areas to view the work from within, opening the windows and doors, and allowing the rhythm of the words to breathe before revisiting them on paper. We propose a free space for female poets. We propose a party.
A través del fulgor will take place on 12 November from 1:00 PM and will head into the night. Correspondence, letters, readings, and dances will fill Réplika Teatro. There will be time for closeness, amazement, and quietness. There will be time for celebration, commotion, and flames.
It will be a delight to experience it together. We're waiting for you.
