# Juana Dolores # * massa diva per a un moviment assembleari * is the debut in theater for the Catalan actress and poet, Juana Dolores Romero. During the solo performance, she claims an individuality expressed with pain, in front of a community that tries to impose her a way thinking. Written, directed and performed by Dolores herself, who has said in several occasions she wants to be judged for her work not for her ideas, she also aims to defend the mestizo culture. In the dramaturgy, names as Rocío Jurado, Stalin, Marilyn Monroe, Beyoncé, Hannah Arendt or Pasolini are references mentioned in the show.
Juana Dolores, with Andalusian emigrant parents, has developed her career in Catalunya. She is also a poet, a video artist and the coordinator of the digital project @HYBRIS.VIRAL. Her work is characterized for a dialogue between tradition, popular culture, contemporary fragmentation and the tension between ideologies and beauty. She has published Bijuteria (56th Amadeu Oller Award for Catalan Poetry, 2020, Edicions Galerada); followed by Limpieza (2020) and Santa Bárbara (2020). She has written and directed Miss Universo (2021), an audiovisual piece produced by Festival Temporada Alta (Girona), where she plays the role of a model who reflects on Georges Bataille’s concept of eroticism.
