The latest Romeo Castellucci performance entails the participation of a large group of anonymous men (played by nonprofessional actors), the main characters of the show. Dressed as North American police officers, they must execute the orders received through headphones, regardless of they are understanding them or not. The situations derived from this creates an appearance of comedy that, however will deviate towards a dark, disturbing, violent side. Creator of extremely powerful images, Castellucci -who visits Festival de Otoño for the third time-, poses questions such as how we relate to the law, individual and collective responsibility, or submission.
Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio was founded in 1981 by Claudia and Romeo Castellucci, Chiara Guidi and Paolo Guidi (who was a member until 1996), sharing a theatre concept where a visual, plastic and sonorous scenery predominates. The company soon made its mark in major international festivals and theatres with shows such as Santa Sofía (1986),The Descent of Inanna (1989), Gilgamesh (1990) or Hamlet. During this time, Raffaello Sanzio made his debut in children's theatre with works such as Hänsel and Gretel, Buchettino (1994), Pelle d’Asino (1998), among others. Then came the Tragedia Endogonidia (2002-2004), a cycle consisting of eleven episodes that take their names from eleven cities. After these initial years, there was a split in the works of the Associazione Raffaello Sanzio, in response to the growing individuality of the company founders. Since 2006, the company has become Socìetas, separately producing the works of each of the three artists. Since 2018, all the experimental initiatives implemented by Socìetas bear the name of the Research Institute of Applied Arts and are supported by Teatro Comandini in Cesena, where the company and the Observatories of Theatre, Dance and Music are located.
