The Lebanese company, Collectif Kahraba, presents at the Festival de Otoño, Géologie d'une Fable, a show
suitable for all audiences about Persians fables, in which Esopo found
inspiration for his tales, that in turn inspired La Fontaine and Marie de
France for theirs. The piece, that combines narration, dance, object
manipulation and sound creation, has clay as the central element. Eric
Deniaud and Aurélien Zouki (creative directors of Collectif Kahraba) will
model this element to make pieces in real time on stage (characters,
animals, objects, landscapes), that narrate universal stories whose wisdom
has been transmitted to our present.
Founded in 2007 in Lebanon, Collectif Kahraba is a performing arts company that brings together artists and technicians from different walks of life, who firmly believe that art is a means for dialogue and openness. In 2011, they initiated Us, the Moon & The Neighbours, a free, multi-disciplinary festival. With six editions, the festival has managed to position itself as a real platform for collaboration, exchange and encounters amongst audiences and local and international artists. In 2017 Collectif Kahraba takes the artistic direction of Hammana Artist House, a residency space for artists that was co-founded with Robert Eid to develop the imagination, curiosity, critical sense and to contribute, in a shared responsibility, to build a culture of peace. With over 18 productions that tour regularly across Lebanon and internationally, the company explores different scenic arts such as theater, puppets, dance or audiovisuals.
