The Community of Madrid increased by 15% the number of audiovisual shootings in which it has been the scene in 2023, as stated in the annual balance made by Film Madrid. An increase over the previous year that maintains the region as an excellent setting for filming, with close to 1100 productions shot in the region, and growing as a major center of audiovisual production in Spain.
The improvement of the Spanish tax incentive for filming increases the maximum limits of the deductions for investments in Spanish and foreign film productions and audiovisual series. The maximum amount of the deduction for production carried out in Spanish territory is increased from 10 to 20 million euros, establishing a deduction of 10 million euros per episode in the case of series.
As part of the fam trip organized together with Madrid Film Office last autumn , Film Madrid had the opportunity to talk to Matthew Chamberlin, a location scout with a great professional career in feature films and series for American studios.
